This is my latest addition to the 1 of 1 Custom LeBron 9 Galaxy Foamposite series that I offered a select few who reached out to me after my “King of the Galaxy” project sold out. This version uses a grey and white base LeBron 9 Foamposite. I customized this pair with a different galaxy print and decided to make this one really pop by treating the flywire mesh portions to glow in addition to the sole, laces, and swoosh. The result is yet another well cooked and damn near nuclear dish. If you really must have a pair and are prepared to pay a premium and wait for this dish to be cooked to your specs, you email me. I may decide to launch a product listing for a bespoke session so stay tuned. There are more images after the jump and plenty more pics to come in the image gallery.
Once again straight from the back burner and into the oven set to broil is an idea that has been cooking ever since the Custom Nerf LeBron craze began. I am not one to copy cat, but certainly one to go against the grain and put my own twist on popular trends. I cooked this dish up with inspiration from the Nike KD 4 Nerf and in acknowledgement of popular custom takes on the shoe. I decided to reverse the artwork layout and place it not on the hyperfuse, but on the flywire mesh and fiber sidewalls. While the above image is just a mockup, you can certainly see from my track record of mockups vs actual shoe comparisons that I am more than capable of cooking this recipe up to perfection. Just like my “MVP In South Beach” this sneaker will feature a custom insole, it will also come with legit concord colored Lebron 9 laces and an extra pair of legit volt green LeBron laces.
This custom launch will deliver starting in September which means orders should be placed now. My average construction window is ranging from 2 to 3 months. I apologize but I simply do not rush work, and if clients wish to continue to receive best in class customer service and there can only be one Chef, then this is how it will remain. Quite frankly, I prefer to give great customer service and take my time on work than push out rushed sloppy projects.
I may decide to limit this piece so if you wish to order you can cop a pair after the jump or head on over to the AF1King Shop and select some more goodies to feed your appetite for GourmetKickz.
With my Summer Finale shoe having been launched and already pre-selling like hotcakes, I am already Fall-minded and looking toward my new projects for Back to School. With September being the benchmark for the start of the season, one cannot ignore the significance of September 11. I decided to launch my Custom “Undefeated” Jordan Spizikes on 9/11 because in a way our nations recovery after such a devastating attack is representative of how we as a nation are quite undefeated. The custom project itself uses a base shoe from NikeID and transforms it into what you see above. There are 2 version; one which keeps the elephant print panels and has me painting them tonal olive along with the rest of the shoe and one that calls for my precise painting skills to replicate UNDFTD’s SAS Print on painted olive patent leather panels. The latter sports a translucent orange outsole and orange UNDFTD logo, while the prior sports those elements in black. There will be a total of 36 pair made, 24 pair of the less complicated elephant printed shoe, and 12 pair of the more complicated SAS Print version. All sizes are booked before construction so there will be no pairs left over. Pre-orders will be cut off on August 1st, orders will begin shipping on September 11. Enjoy!
I recently posted a detailed mockup of a redone Cool Grey LeBron 9 in a mash-up custom that took cues from the LeBron 9 MVP and the classic South Beach colorway. I couldn’t resist actually cooking up a pair immediately. What you see above and after the jump is the tasty dish fully cooked and served up beach side. This selection can be pre-ordered after the jump or in the AF1King Online Shop. Allow some decent lead time for creation as this sneaker is my Summer Finale dish and I have lots to do before my summer break in August. Points to take special notice to on this shoe are the painted mesh side panels and the fade / stipple effect on the flywire. Continue reading
Many of you have seen the MVP LeBron 9 which features a different color interior and exterior as well as some cool fading on the flywire. Well this custom sneaker uses that exclusive as inspiration. The colorway is derived from the popular South Beach Theme using filament green and flamingo pink for the exterior and interior panels respectively. The flywire fades from one color to the other in a Miami Night-like fashion. The insole is also customized and custom hook-up tees are available. All of this is now live in the AF1King Shop in the South Beach Diet section. Or you can cop after the jump. By the way my dearest gluttons, this launch marks the last of my custom sneakers for the remainder of the summer. I will be taking a short hiatus and returning with a vengeance come back to school and fall. In the meantime, sans new releases I will be working hard in the kitchen to fill all orders placed up to this point. Bon A Petit! and Ciao!
Everyone seems to have become brainwashed into thinking that the soon to launch LeBron 9 P.S. Elite in Wolf Grey/Mint Candy-New Green-Pink Flash style #516958-001 is a “South Beach” colorway. When did a “South Beach” consist of an upper that is wolf grey? When did a “South Beach” not include filament green as a main color? Well, I had to take things into my own creative cooking hands and offer a remixed dish. What you see above is exactly that. Send me your wold grey/Mint candy LeBron 9 P.S. Elites and I will paint them to a proper filament green and black colorway as a “South Beach” should be done. The interior will be dyed and the pink accents will remain. The result? A proper custom “South Beach” LeBron 9 P.S. Elite. Scroll down after the jump to purchase the custom job (shoe not included) and you will be instructed on how to send me your pair with a pre-paid label. What you receive back will be a true South Beach Masterpiece by yours truly Chef of GourmetKickz.
I had originally conceptualized these customs on a LeBron 9 Foamposite base, but decided to put some of my Dunkmans to use by flipping a pair up. The result is a very similar final product with a clean look. This version is named “Dunkin in Brooklyn” referencing the use of the Dunkman and the 112 spin. Elephant print adorns the sidewalls while the flywire mesh at the forefoot and heel are treated with 3M reflective paint. The midsole is also stippled with 3M. Matching volt laces swap out the original grey. Check the AF1King store for these to drop. Order soon as I will be taking a summer hiatus returning for back to school and holiday orders. Enjoy the rest of the images with and without flash to see the impact the 3M treatment has. Continue reading
“This fragment of his planet will be his worst nightmare” So true about the green crystal with amazing powers and a source of weakness for the Man of Steel. And what better a shoe to represent the dichotomy of super-heroic strength and weakness than the Dunkman LeBron 9? The sole is dipped and dyed to glow in the dark as is the entire sidewall of Kryptonite! The remainder of the shoe is completely reworked from flywire mesh to hyperfuse to midsole and swoosh. If you wish to get an idea as to how my mockups compare to the actual finished product so you can purchase with confidence, head over to this page >> Enjoy this main course and break neck as easily as Superman would. Cop after the jump or head on over to the AF1King Shop and see what other taster morsels you wish to feast on. Bon A Petit! Continue reading
Why So Serious? Well maybe you need some Jokes Man! Get them in the form of these “JokerMan” Custom LeBron 9’s by your truly, Chef of GourmetKickz. Some may snicker and sneer at this shoe, but that’s the point isn’t it? And in all honesty, who didn’t have something slick to say at the site of the rather unusual Joker? That bright green hair, that purple jacket, the green waistcoat, fancy braces, amazing hex pattern shirt, Ferragamo shoes… what a dresser! So maybe you can’t pull off the same look, but surely you can pallet a dish that is concocted of all the aforementioned ingredients! The final dish is pictured and cooked extra well done if I don’t say so myself. Have a healthy helping and rejoice in these kicks as the jolly Joker would. Break necks while doing so, figuratively of course, let’s not immerse too deep into the brutal bozo of bedlam. Cop a pair after the jump or head on over to the AF1King Shop to see this new custom on the chopping block and many more.
In light of the rash of other Miami Nights themed customs being revealed, Chef has decided to do yet another preemptive launch with this Custom “Rooke Nights” Nike Zoom Rookie Foamposite theme after the LeBron 8 V2 Low “Miami Nights”. Keep in mind that while the above is just a mockup, the completed actual product is sure to look 1000x more amazing. If you are not used to Chef’s pre-orders, head on over to his “Mockup Vs. Actual Product” Comparison Image Gallery to see how other mockups have been brought to life. If you have confidence in Chef like the dozens that did when pre-ordering his “King of the Galaxy” LeBron 9 Foamposite then you can head over to the AF1King Shop and pre-order a pair or add them to your cart after the jump.
